Windows 7 may exhibit connection issues, or display issues when connecting to RemoteApps using the old 7.1 client version.
The Remote Desktop client will not connect to these Windows Versions and Editions: Windows 7 Starter; Windows 7 Home; Windows 8 Home; Windows 8.1 Home; Windows 10 Home; If you want to access computers that have one of these Windows versions installed, we recommend you upgrade to a Windows version that supports RDP. RD Gateway messaging is not supported. Remote Desktop Client does not. Use the Microsoft Remote Desktop app to connect to a remote PC or virtual apps and desktops made available by your admin. To check your Remote Desktop version, click the Start button and search for Remote Desktop. Launch the Remote Desktop program, click the icon at the top-left of the window, select About. This will show you your current client version (7.1, 8.0, or 8.1).
If you are not running version 8.1, upgrade the RDP client to version 8.1 following the path below.
